Census will enter maintenance mode to conduct a migration of our core internal databases to a new system. This migration will enable faster performance and improved uptime for Census customers.
During this migration, the Census application will be completely unavailable. The Census Sync Management UI (app.getcensus.com) as well as the API will be replaced with a maintenance page, and no syncs will run. Syncs that were running at the time the maintenance begins will be paused and resumed once it is completed, and syncs that were scheduled to run during the maintenance window will be deferred and started once the maintenance is completed. For syncs that would have run multiple times during the outage window (i.e. hourly or quarter-hourly) only one instance of the sync will run once the maintenance has completed; the other instances will be skipped.
In the unlikely event that the migration cannot be successfully completed, the Census team will restore service using the existing databases and schedule a new maintenance window in the future. There will be no data loss associated with this migration, and no customer action is required.
